MARTINIQUE

The terrain in Martinique is mountainous, especially in the rain forest. The climate is relatively mild, with the average temperature in the 75-85 degree F range. The island is cooled by a wind the French called alize’, and rain is frequent but doesn’t last very long. The rainy season is late August to November. April to September are the hottest months.

It is noted for the number of hummingbirds, mountain whistler, blackbird and the mongoose. It is also known as the island of the flowers.

Getting Around

It is recommended to rent a car, use a tax, bus & taxi collectif. You may also opt to use the ferry, bicycle or motorbike.
