ST. EUSTATIUS

St. Eustatius, also called "Statia", this Dutch-held island is 8 square miles, with a flare of 18th-century heritage. It is one of the true backwaters of the West Indies. Oranjestad (Orange City) is the capital and overlooks the Caribbean on the western edge of the plain. This island attracts hikers and divers.

The island’s reefs are covered with corals and enveloped by marine life. Going through the tropical forest, you’ll encounter wild orchids, philodendron, heliconia, anthurium, fruit trees, ferns, wildlife and birds, in addition to oleander, hibiscus and bougainvillea.
