ST. KITTS

St. Kitts has become the resort mecca. The major crop is sugar, a tradition dating back from the 17th century. It has the best white-sand beaches. It was once a British colony, but was given self-government in 1967.

It is so small, it is considered a "ministate" instead of a country. Sugarcane runs right up the slopes and there are palm-lined beaches around the island. You’ll also notice ruins of old mills and plantation houses, in addition to a lot of trees and rich vegetation.
